TODAY’S WORD FOR YOU, 11-23-15 The Two BUT’S of Solomon

But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.  (Mt 19:30)

Are there ‘BUT’S’ in your life keeping you from trusting and obeying God fully?

It is better to start off bad and end up good than the other way around.  The Biblical case in point is the life of King Solomon who had everything going for him.  He had a good start in a big way, which really meant nothing because of his bad ending, and how he was dethroned by God.  The wisest king of the world’s empire in his time ended up as the most foolish king of all time, who left a poor legacy for the nation of Israel to the present day.  His two ‘BUT’S’:

BUT SOLOMON was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.”  (1Kings 7:1)

BUT king Solomon (defiantly) loved many foreign women: the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites (1Kings 11:1) . . .He had 700 wives, princesses, and 300 concubines; and his wives turned away his heart from God.” (AMP vs 2-3)

TRUST IN GOD AND IN HIS WORD

images-5

The Lord recently impressed upon me to share with you some of the many things that He has spoken and taught me in time past regarding words of  ‘edification, exhortation, and of comfort’  (1Cor14:3).

As the Gospel of John reveals, particularly chapters 14, 15, and 16, we learn of the ministry of the Holy Ghost who Jesus said He would send ‘to be with us, and be in us’  (Jn14:17).

The Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Truth’s responsibility or job, is to ‘teach us all things and bring all things to our remembrance’ (Jn14:26).  Jesus said ‘he shall testify of me’ (Jn15:26); He shall ‘guide us into all truth and show us things to come, and He will glorify me’ (Jn16:13).

Here are words which the Holy Spirit  spoke to me that will  encourage and bless you.  They are from my journal, dated 3-31-03, 2 months before our large home was sold.  It took nearly a year to sell our  9 bedroom, 5 1/2 bath tri-level home.  When we moved into a condo in the city we were free without being encumbered, to continue our mission work in the Philippines which we had begun in 2000. This is what the Holy Spirit told me and I wrote it down:

“Be still and know that I am God.  For the Lord is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask and believe Him to do.  He that is Mighty has done great things even today as He did yesterday, and will also do tomorrow.  For there is no good thing that He will withhold from those who fear Him and seek Him daily.

Though the enemy would assail you, he will not touch you or do you any harm and in fact, will shamefacedly slink away because you have withstood him by your faith, the blood of Jesus, and the Word from God Himself.

No weapon formed against you will prosper is a ‘thus saith the Lord’ to you personally.  For greater is He that is in YOU than he that prowls the earth with his evil intentions and devices.

You will be on TOP and not on the bottom; you will RISE UP and not be fallen down.  You will be VICTORS and not victims; you will have a GOOD REPORT and not a bad one.

For the Lord will give you a tremendous testimony of His love and grace that will give Him glory and bless many people.  It will testify of His faithfulness and of His calling people out unto Himself, to be LED of Him, to SERVE Him, to be USED of Him in this final end time work.

We will see and speak to people who have like testimonies as well, for God is calling out a people to seek another kingdom to live and rule in with Him.  It will be a kingdom that will be everlasting, with no end, with peace that surpasses understanding and where God will live with His people.  And there will be no lack, for God will satisfy every need, every longing of man’s heart, everything that man did not find fulfillment in on earth.”

“But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Holy Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth.  He will not speak His own message, but what He hears from the Father as given to Him, and He will tell you of things to come” (John 16:13 paraphrased AMP BIBLE)

“. . .he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort”  (1Cor 14:3).

  GOD BLESS YOU!

Trusting God In These Difficult Times

TRUSTING GOD IN THESE DIFFICULT TIMES

This post was written as a reminder to myself and all those who are being challenged into ‘Trusting God in These Difficult Times’.

“FEAR NOT FOR I HAVE REDEEMED YOU, I HAVE CALLED YOU BY YOUR NAME, YOU ARE MINE,

images-1

WHEN YOU PASS THROUGH THE WATERS, I WILL BE WITH YOU; AND THROUGH THE RIVERS, THEY SHALL NOT OVERFLOW YOU:  WHEN YOU WALK THROUGH THE FIRE, YOU SHALL NOT BE BURNED: NEITHER SHALL THE FLAME KINDLE UPON YOU.”  ISAIAH 43:1-2

THESE VERSES TELL US THAT GOD WILL BE WITH US IN AND THROUGH DIFFICULT TIMES.  HE IS ON OUR SIDE TO HELP US, BUT WE MUST TRUST HIM SO THAT WE DO NOT GIVE IN TO OUR FEARS AND FALL VICTIMS TO OUR CIRCUMSTANCES.

Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.  In all your ways know, recognize and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.  Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil.”  Prov 3:5-7 AMP

Cast The First Stone

I have a witness to this post; I am familiar with these scriptures and fear God. Thank you so much for exhorting us to get back to trusting God and taking His Word to heart.  Yes, we must keep in mind that it is God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  God is at the helm of this big ship; He is at the controls; He doesn’t need our help as much as He needs our FULL TRUST in Him as He navigates us through the rough seas.  Man your posts, mates!   AMEN!

Whom Shall I Fear? Of Whom Shall I Be Afraid?

Psalm 27:1 and 14 tell us:
“The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom shall I fear?  the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
“Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
There are more Than 365 “Fear Not’s” in the Bible!
In ‘David, A Man After God’s Heart’ eBook, Chapter 4 (9-18-2012 post), I said in the introduction:
“. . .This past Sunday, the visiting preacher told us that God said “Fear not” 366 times in the Bible, which is like God saying that to us EVERY DAY, including leap year, knowing that we need to be reminded daily.  God loves us so much and is our GREATEST ENCOURAGER, so we really should spend more time letting Him speak to us from the Bible, imparting His Truth, Wisdom and Knowledge to us that we can apply to our lives.

There are numerous  Fear Nots in the Bible, even more than 1 per day of the year or for every day of our lives.  The number of times “Fear Not” is stated in the Bible differs with the various translations, but nonetheless, God speaks these actual words “Fear not” and similar expressions such as, “Don’t be afraid.”  He encourages us in many ways not to fear, but to trust Him.

In the Soul Shepherding website, http://www.soulshepherding.org/2010/07/fear-not-365-days-a-year/ the article says ‘Fear Not!  365 Days A Year’, that there are 103 Fear Nots in KJV, but over 500 references to ‘fear’ alone, not counting those scriptures that deal with worry and anxiety.  What this means is that the Bible is a rich source of words of wisdom, guidance, and encouragement in coping with our fears and anxieties.

Someone wrote that if God said Fear not ONLY ONCE, he would be satisfied and happy with that!  Others have Googled and said that they can find only half as many Fear nots of the 365 in the link I mentioned.  I suppose they were looking for the words, “Fear not.”  I don’t recommend trying to count  the “Fear nots” because you will lose count as I did.  I began counting other words God spoke besides “Fear not” that mean the same thing, about not being afraid.  Besides, there are many  examples in the Bible of God’s faithfulness that teach us not be fearful, but to trust in God alone.

These are just a few of my favorite scriptures where God says “Fear Not”:

“Let not your heart be troubled ..”  (John 14:1)

“Call unto me and I will answer you..”   (Jer 33:3)

“Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.”  (Phil 4:6 AMP)

“Fret not thyself because of evildoers..” (Psalm 37:1)

“Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee..”  (Joshua 1:9b)

“.. lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.  Amen.”  (Mt 28:20)

“..If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Ro 8:31b)

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  (2 Tim 1:7)

Jesus said,  “. . . I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”  (Heb 13:5).

The only thing I can think to be fearful of is NOT KNOWING JESUS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR AND NOT HAVING GOD AS YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER;  to not know of God’s loving kindness and tender mercies; to not know that there is a blessed hope for all those who trust in Him; to not know where you will spend eternity and that there is a heaven to gain and a hell to shun.

So the answer to the questions, “Whom Shall I Fear?  Of Whom Shall I Be Afraid?” is FEAR GOD, this ‘FEAR’ meaning to reverence and honor God, and He will help you with all of your ‘fears’, whatever they be.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”  (Proverbs 1:7)
