“The Lord thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.”  (2 Samuel 22:14)

God Puts Damper on Gays’ Prenuptial Celebration

An intense early winter cold front was nearing the Hawaiian Islands and was expected to arrive here on Thanksgiving Day, but thankfully it didn’t come and nearly everyone had nice celebrations with their families and friends.  The cloudy skies began to look ominous, as my husband and his friend, both retired meteorologists, followed the satellite and radar pictures.  They said that Oahu would have heavy rains and possible thunderstorms coming from Kauai about 100 miles to the west.

Friday came, no rain.  Saturday the skies were cloudier.  Then on Sunday morning the light rains came, and then it began to pour heavily as the thunderstorms started to appear.  It was at the same time when the Gay couples were preparing for their pre-nuptials in order to have the honor of being among the first to get married right after midnight Sunday, December 2, 2013, when Same Sex Marriage would become legal in Hawaii.

Thomas Square, a municipal park in the heart of Honolulu, was where this momentous event was to occur for about 40 Gay couples.  We were then attending church about a block away, when suddenly there was a flash of lightning and a very loud clap of thunder as heavy showers began to pour!

Today as I read the morning newspaper, the skies were blue and it was a beautiful day outside, and then I realized that without a doubt, God had spoken from heaven, letting His voice and displeasure be heard.  Yesterday’s prenuptial same sex marriage celebrations were cancelled, ‘rained out’.  According to the news report, some of the planned activities were “bouncy castles, food trucks and musical performers.”  The famed Royal Hawaiian Band was to open the festivities and the ‘Hawaiian Wedding Song’ was to be sung, “but Mayor Kirk Caldwell’s Marriage Equality Family Day and Celebration at Thomas Square had to be canceled because of inclement weather.”  (Quotes from Honolulu Star Advertiser, ‘Hours ahead of rites, gays get ready to get married’ Mon. 12-2-13)

Regarding God’s Displeasure

“See that ye refuse not him that speaketh.  For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.” (Heb 12:25-26)

“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”  (Heb 10:31)
