This post is particularly addressed to viewers who have questions and concerns about the subject of FEAR.
Someone wants to know, “What does of whom shall I be afraid mean?”
Somebody else asked, “Who should I fear?”
Please read ‘Whom Shall I Fear? Of Whom Shall I Be Afraid?’ which I posted on Nov. 13, 2012. It is about living a life without fear knowing that God has our back. We have no one and nothing to be afraid of because God loves us and cares for us. He says to us over and over again, “Don’t be afraid” and “Fear not”. We have nothing to fear, but fear itself, which is not of God and does not come from God. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us,
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
The spirit of fear does not come from God. Fear and anxiety comes from Satan. This verse says that we have (the spirit of) power, and (the spirit of) love, and (the spirit of) a sound mind, that God has given to us. It describes the Holy Spirit. Those who have put their faith and trust in God and His Word have the Holy Spirit as their friend, teacher, comforter. The Holy Spirit is also our advocate and protector against the evil in the world that Satan is responsible for.
When the Bible speaks of ‘the fear of God or fear God’ it refers to how God should be regarded, with holy reverence, respect and honor. That being said, know that God is on our side; He doesn’t want us to have fear or to be afraid of Him. He is our Father in Heaven who loves us and wants to bless us; He desires that we give Him honor and respect for who He is- the Almighty Father, Creator of heaven and earth, Savior and Redeemer of mankind. All power is His and He is worthy of our praise!
To answer the question: “Who should I fear?“ We must FEAR GOD and have a holy reverence for Him. If this question means, “Who should I be afraid of or fearful of?” the answer will still be the same. If you have not entrusted your life to God’s care, you place your very life in jeopardy. Those who reject God and do not place their trust in Him will not be under His protective care. They will be subject to the influence and evil works of Satan, who is the Father of lies, the deceiver, the thief and robber of their blessings. Satan will rule their lives. They will be victimized by Satan and in the end will be cast into the lake of fire with him, along with all those whose names are not written in the book of life (Rev 20:15).
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10
