Here are scriptures of comfort and encouragement for those experiencing trials of their faith today. Whether wildfires, floods, extreme heat waves, dust storms, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, approaching hurricanes, droughts, physical challenges, cold water showers, etc., God is still on His Throne, and is able and is willing to help us!
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD. Is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. (Psalm 121)
Jesus said ‘..in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)
Blessed be God even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. (2 Cor 1:3-4)
It has been 3 days since our condo’s hot water system broke down, so we have had only cold water showers. Last night water was discovered in the elevator pit, and the water was completely turned off, as well as one of the two elevators in order to pump the water out. Water was turned on later and we all saved water for today when plumbers will come to fix the water heaters and look for the broken pipe that is leaking water into the elevator pit. So the water will be turned off again.
Our condo has a mix of young families and elderly with caregivers, mature and immature adults whose initial reactions ranged from annoyance and dismay to ballistic rage and ‘end of the world’/out of control attitudes which they voiced. But now everyone’s calmed down since there’s nothing we can do until help comes. This was a note to some of my neighbors:
Postscript: \o/ Praise the Lord! We’re hooked up again to our water supply with HOT water- less than 2 hours after this post went out! Going to do some laundry and turn on the dishwasher now! GOD IS GOOD!
