COUNTING THE COSTS

hebrews-13-5-6-god-is-at-my-side-never-leave-or-forsake-you

And Jesus said unto him, “no man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God.”  Luke 9:62

“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.  But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.  Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.  And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.  He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.  He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.”  Matthew 10:32-39

From THE MESSAGE:

“Stand up for me against world opinion and I’ll stand up for you before my Father in heaven.  If you turn tail and run,do you think I’ll cover for you?

“Don’t think I’ve come to make life cozy.  I’ve come to cut– make a sharp knife–  cut between son and father, daughter and mother, bride and mother-in-law–  cut through these cozy domestic arrangements and free you for God.  Well-meaning family members can be your worst enemies.  If you prefer father or mother over me, you don’t deserve me.  If you prefer son or daughter over me, you don’t deserve me.

“If you don’t go all the way with me, through thick and thin, you don’t deserve me.  If your first concern is to look after yourself, you’ll never find yourself.  But if you forget about yourself and look to me, you’ll find both yourself and me.”

GOD’S FAITHFULNESS

“. . . I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”  Hebrews 13:5

“. . . I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”  Joshua 1:5

“Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens: and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds . . .   How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God!”  Psalm 36:5,7

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.”  Revelation 19:11

Let’s take a stand for God’s righteousness and His Word. No compromise, no hypocrisy, no going with the flow and being ‘politically correct’, BUT BELIEVING THAT GOD’S WORD IS YEA AND AMEN!
