God’s Amazing Love Overcomes Our Fears And Indifferences

GOD’S AMAZING LOVE Overcomes Our Fears and Indifferences

Jude 22:21-22

“Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.  And of some have compassion, making a difference:”

As I sat  in Bible class this morning the Holy Spirit began to bring things to my mind about GOD’S AMAZING LOVE.

While we are not of the world Jn17:14,  we must go and PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE WORLD Mk16:15, ‘For GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life’ Jn3:16.

We are to share the love of God wherever we are, for we are the light of the world and the salt of the earth, Mt5:13,14. We are to make a difference in the world!

But this is not possible if we insulate and isolate ourselves from the world as Christians, from the people of the world and are not compassionate toward them.

I am suggesting a change of mindset for many of us- a change of attitude about the world that God so loved and Jesus died for, to go forth to tell others about Jesus!

Is it difficult to extend kindness and understanding to the poor and disadvantaged?  I remember the first time my 11 year old granddaughter Emily helped serve dinner at a shelter and realized that “the homeless people are just like us guys.” (See ‘Pity the Poor’ at   Emily said that the families there looked like ‘normal people’!  This is a startling revelation for a young child who has always known comfort and plenty, and it would also be for many adults who have not fallen upon hard times.

Jesus was not reluctant to approach society’s ‘cast offs’, a prostitute, an adulteress, lepers, demon possessed, the  downtrodden, the poor, and others who suffered ostracism and alienation from the public.  These folks were no more sinners than we were before we were saved by God’s grace.

As I sat in class I heard the teacher speaking about faith and how ‘..with God all things are possible’  Mk10:27, I remembered a young hair stylist in the Philippines a few years ago.  All of the young men working in the salon were homosexuals, but the one who worked on me was ‘born again’.  He showed me a picture of his former self as a transvestite, a cross dresser in his wig and high heels.  God saved him and he now shares the love of God with his co-workers and clients.  God in His Mercy and Grace touched his life!  Praise the Lord!

Next I recalled the time when I was vacationing on a neighbor island and a cruise ship dropped off a shipload of gay men at the beach near our hotel.  They came in a long procession with their partners, many hand in hand.  I was invited by friends on a glass- bottom boat ride which happened to reserve 3/4 of the seats for these guys, and we all had a great time looking at the coral reef and tropical fish.

I recently became acquainted with a transsexual person through the blogging community, whom God saved, and is now a Christian.  This is her site and testimony of her challenges as a Christian and a transsexual person.

I thank God for his AMAZING LOVE that overcomes fear and indifference in my life  regarding my attitude toward the LGBT community.  I know that no legislation will change the way I practice my faith which is by revering God’s Word and striving to obey it.  There is also no legislation that will be able to force me to accept, affirm, or encourage a lifestyle that is disapproved of God.  However, others have the right to make their own choices, to live by them and to be accountable themselves to God and the law of the land, even if some Christians consider living with them intolerable or inconvenient.  That is what Lot chose to do.  And we’re living in the days of Noah and Lot as the Bible says in Luke 17:26-29.

Here are some scriptures to remind us to love others with the love of God:

The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. (Ro5:5)

For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?  And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?  Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.  (Mt 5:46-48)

And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:  To the end he may stablish your hearts, unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.  (1 Thess 3:12-13)

…There is none righteous, no, not one. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Ro 3:10; 6:23)

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.  (Eph 2:8-9)

And finally, let us be encouraged and steadfast in our faith:

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began..  (2 Tim 1:7-9)

The last days are upon us!

When evil is good and good is evil,

Adults do drugs and smoke pot with their kids

Both old and young alike become perverted

And society is grossly depraved

Men lusting after men, women after women

As in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah

Before God destroyed the cities by fire.

The last days are upon us!

When evil is good and good is evil,

Less clothes is cool with much exposed

But going bare with everything showing is better

Though some are gawking and others object

They are driven by lunatic demons who do such things

But one man became of sound mind and put clothes on

When he met Jesus.

The last days are upon us!

When evil is good and good is evil,

To shed innocent blood and murder babies

And the infirm and elderly for convenience sake,

A mother tries to kill her reprobate daughter

A husband and 5 children will kill their mother

Since she left her faith to follow Christ

To kill Christians and Jews is to do God a favor.

The last days are upon us!

When evil is good and good is evil,

Men shall be lovers of selves as in the days of Noah

Partying and reveling in riotous living

Lovers of pleasures and haters of God

Changing the laws for the changing times

Making what was evil, good

And what was good, evil.

The last days are upon us!

There is no fear in God,  But God is not mocked

Whatever a man sows is what he will reap.

So REPENT while there is still time

To have your name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life

For every man will be judged according to his works

And whosoever was not found written in the Book of life

Was cast into the Lake of Fire!
