But GOD COMMENDED HIS LOVE TOWARD US, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that HE LOVED US, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins. (1John 4:10)
Beloved, let us love one another: for LOVE IS OF GOD; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God,
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for GOD IS LOVE. (1John 4:7-8)

WHY DID JESUS COME?
Jesus came because of God’s great love for us.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
God wanted to be with us.
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” (Mt 1:23)
Hallelujah! EMMANUEL, GOD WITH US!
Why has this happened in America?
Answer: Because America has rejected God! Scoffing the name of Jesus does not remove the existence of God in the affairs of mankind, in His blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience.
And this is what the Bible says, like it or not:
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him (Jesus), and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-10)

In the United States today, there are very few words that provoke as much outrage as the name of Jesus. It is being banned from graduation ceremonies, chaplains all over America are being forbidden from using His name in their prayers, and many school officials all over the nation have become absolutely fanatical about eliminating every trace of Christian expression from their schools. One elementary school in North Carolina even ordered a little six-year-old girl to remove the word “God” from a poem that she had written to honor her grandfathers. Political correctness is spreading like a cancer in this country, and our “freedom of religion” is rapidly being transformed into a guarantee of “freedom from religion” for those that hate the Christian faith.

LIFE’s ENDURING QUESTIONS
Is there a God? Why did God put so many stars in the sky? Why is the universe so vast? Why are we here on earth? What is the meaning and purpose to our life? Is it just to live for just a very short while, and then to die? Is death the end of our life or is there a life after death? Is there such a thing as a heaven and a hell? Where do you plan on spending eternity, and with whom? What is God’s ultimate plan and purpose for us? What is ‘..the eternal purpose which God purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord’ Ep3:11?
For every believer in Jesus Christ, life is all about God, what He wants to do in our lives. Is64:8 states

BEAUTIFUL POST ABOUT GOD’S GREAT AND AWESOME LOVE FOR US!!! “How wonderful, how marvelous is my Savior’s love for me. . .”
Sing along with Chris Tomlin
Father, I find this amazing, but yet very funny that you spend your precious time counting the number of my hairs, ‘But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.’ (Luke 12:7).
That we spend all our time playing hide and seek, ‘Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou…

Very nice story about OBEDIENCE. I like this part:
“God’s not a control freak. He is a loving Father. He calls us to obey in order to protect and bless us. (“Give…and it will be given unto you…” “Obey…and you will eat the fruit of the land…” ) God’s promises to us are great. And often involve obedience…”
Do you recall when you first learned a lesson in obedience? What was it? What did the experience teach you? I don’t know about you, but I’m awfully stubborn by nature. I’ve had to learn some lessons over and over and over again. Thank God He’s so patient with us – a loving Father teaching us to trust Him, to walk humbly, to obey…
I didn’t like obeying. My rebellion started early. I had a vivid independent streak. A strong ‘self’ will. A tendency to do things my way. As a girl, I was always running around outdoors. I would be footloose and fancy free for hours on end.
But…there were rules to follow. There happened to be a ‘curfew’ in place at our house. And oh, how I hated that curfew! Especially in summer. Who wanted to be in bed at 8 p.m. when it was still light out? Not me! One night I took off and hung out in one of my favorite tree branches, hiding from…

Know who you are in Christ! We are overcomers; we have the victory! The title of this post says it all- “God Tells Us Who We Are- Powerful Bible Verses to Encourage and Conquer”!
We are a child of God . . . Romans 8:16 tells us that God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who He is, and we know who we are. He is our Father and we are His children. We have been saved, and had nothing to do with it. Ephesians 2:7-8 tells us that saving us was all His idea, and all His work. All we do is trust him enough to let Him do it. It was His gift from start to finish! We didn’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we didn’t save ourselves. God does all the saving.
We are freed from oppression . . . Psalms 107:2 says, Oh, thank God—He’s so good! His love never runs out. All of you set free by God, tell…

WHAT MUST HAPPEN WILL HAPPEN! God had a plan when He created earth and put man on it. This plan is revealed only in the Holy Bible! From the books of Genesis to Revelation, God’s plan for dealing with mankind is only 7000-years long. From the first man, Adam, to today, is only about 6000 years. The book of Revelation reveals how this 6000 years will terminate soon, and the millennial kingdom of Jesus will be established on earth for another 1000 years. Then comes the endless eternity, where God already has another plan for man! Because of man’s inability to govern himself and live peaceably with his neighbor, God is wresting man’s rule on earth from him, and giving it to the Lord Jesus Christ! However, the final part of God’s 1st 6000-year plan will be a most difficult and troublesome period for all of mankind. Many would describe this final part as ‘the end of the world‘! Foreword by Drgold.
WHAT IF… The Mayans were right?!
If the world blew up and came to an end
Where would you be right now?
If a giant fiery comet hit the earth
And 10.0 earthquakes occurred all together
All around the Ring of Fire and fault lines
Broke up the continents into fragments
Creating deep crevasses in the earth
Swallowing everything up whole
Causing mega landslides and avalanches of mud
Giant 100-foot tsunamis bringing walls of water
Mighty crashing waves washing away
Everyone and everything in their paths
What would happen to you,
And your loved ones, friends and neighbors?
Or if the earth’s violent shaking
Stirred up extinct volcanoes
And other volcanoes that had been dormant
Or sleeping for ages
What if they all suddenly woke up
Spewed out towering clouds of smoke
And hot ash, rocks and giant boulders
Into the sky and down the mountain slopes?
There is no earthly preparation one can make?
Whatever is coming will come
And there’s no stopping or preventing it
No one knows what the future holds
We are not guaranteed of a tomorrow.
Yet there are matters of life and death
On our minds and in our hearts. . .
What is there to life,
Is this it- just one life to live, then to die?
Our mortality is pondered upon
We wonder about eternity.
The Bible says we are like a passing vapor,
A mere blade of grass in a meadow
Even like little grasshoppers on earth
From God’s view in heaven
So insignificant, but we are so SPECIAL to Him.
What If.. Jesus
God’s only begotten Son, did not come?
Jesus, who died on the cross for our sins
That we would not perish
But have everlasting life
So let what will happen, happen
However my world ends
I know where I’m headed
I’m just a pilgrim passing through,
For I’m heaven bound
Where Jesus awaits me, Mom and Dad, too
And many others who have gone before me-
♫What a day that will be
When my Jesus I shall see
When I look upon His face
The one who saved me by His grace
When He takes me by the hand
Leads me to that promised land
What a day, glorious day, that will be!♫
Listen to: ‘What A Day That Will Be’
With all the suffering in the world today from the ravages of mega storms, earthquakes, loss of jobs and homes, economic crisis and financial losses, oppression and devastations from terrorism and war upon lives and property, plus sicknesses, diseases, etc., etc. “Why be thankful?!”
We just met an elderly gentleman who used to live in the Queens area in New York City that suffered heavy damages from Superstorm Sandy. He had a one way ticket here and arrived just before the storm hit his former home. After his friend could not board him any longer, he spent a night at the YMCA where we go to exercise. We saw him with his suitcase looking for someone to give him a ride to a homeless shelter. The folks at the shelter said they would provide him with temporary lodging and look for senior housing for him. We know little else about him other than he acknowledges God in his life and trusts the Lord to help him in his situation. After giving him a ‘small gift’, we left him in the company of many ‘down and out’ folks milling around IHS, the Institute of Human Services.
I believe God brought us together with this man because in our car we had a bag of recycled bath towels we had been carrying around for several days, intending to drop them off at the IHS.
“Why be thankful?!” If for nothing else, Robert, and this goes for everyone who is a believer in Jesus Christ, can appreciate this scripture:
Jesus said in Luke 10:20b,
“. . . rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”
