Like it or not, we are in a BATTLE, A BATTLE TO THE DEATH!

Have you recently been knocked around by our common enemy, the great deceiver and destroyer- SATAN?!

Has our foe browbeaten you lately and you’ve taken a lot of licks from your spouse and family, colleagues at work and on every front?

The word today is to get fed up, stand up, above all, don’t give up, and to FIGHT!

Stand to your feet and fight for your life with all you got!  We have Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and His Word to help fight our battles with us and for us!

…the battle is not yours, but God’s.  (2 Chron 20:15)

For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.  (Deut 20:4)

James 4:7 says,

Submit yourselves therefore to God.  Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

This to me means to give up beating one’s head against the wall, trying to solve matters our way.  The Bible says that our help will come with divine intervention, but it will take prayers that are fervent and spoken out of desperation.

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (James 5:16b)

With all prayer and petition pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all God’s people. (Eph 6:18 AMP)

Our enemies here on earth are not flesh and blood people.  Though we cannot see them, they are still real enemies, and it is tough to fight what you can’t see.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places. (Eph 6:12 AMP)

Satan means business and we must take him seriously and know his MO- modus operandi:

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy: (John 10:10a)

He is doing his job wearing down the saints and causing us great distress and discouragement, especially when we think we mean well and all we get in return is insult, scorn and lack of appreciation.  Maybe some of you, too,  have experienced this.

But in the same verse, John 10:10 part b, we find our source of help:

I (Jesus) came that they (we) may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].  (John 10:10b AMP)

So the lesson here is that we need to beef up our prayers because our battles are spiritual.  If we are not having the blessings of abundant life in John 10:10b we must engage in spiritual warfare through serious prayer and intercession to the throne of God.  When we do this our answers will be forthcoming.
