3-23-15  Yeah, right!  I read somewhere that Hawaii has the highest population of homeless and houseless families and individuals in the nation.  More than 3/4 of the million people in the state live on O’ahu, my island.  An area right in the city upon prime land for luxury condos and unaffordable affordable high rises are shooting up on every available space possible.  But a major problem exists with the number of homeless encampments that are an eyesore for the developers and new residents buying into the area.  So 70 units for the ‘poor’ will be built in an industrial area by 2017.  BIG DEAL!  Hey, there’s almost 5,000 homeless in Hawaii with over 2,000 on neighboring islands!  So that’s a drop in the bucket compared to the number of homeless who enjoy living in the same places as the rich.  Hawaii- a place of contrasts living together side by side!  Not for much longer. . .

6-28-14  Praise Report  I want to give praise to the Lord today and thank Him for caring about even the mundane things in my life.  Recently I came to the conclusion that my guest room needed a makeover because it was getting mighty cluttered with the remnants of outgrown toys and clothes, craft stuff, and misc. from the grandchildren.   It would feel awfully crowded when 2 or 3 would watch TV or do homework on the bed.  The problem was this queen size bed that took so much space in the little condo size guest room and the children were now large kids in their teens.  So I was determined to redo the whole room and start afresh.  After a disappointing day looking for a day bed, trundle bed or futon wall hugger sofa bed, I decided to ask God for help.  I simply said, “I need help, Lord!”  Yesterday I woke up with the word “Inspiration“.  Would you know the morning paper had a 2 page ad of a huge furniture sale at Honolulu Design Center of which Inspiration is one of the stores there.  God led me there! Praise His Name!  I came away with a sleeper sofa, a 6 drawer dresser, 2 drawer desk which will double for a study/sewing table, and 2 end tables and saved over $1,000 with my total costs reduced by almost half!  This is a miracle story of the 2 end tables:  I was going to buy 1 table for $69, regular $189.  But it would cost $89 with the $20 for assembly cost.   Then I found 2 of the same tables in the clearance section for $49 each, already assembled and further discounted because they had tiny blemishes.   It was like getting 1 table FREE! WOW, it is great to see God’s faithfulness in our lives after I had already committed to donate  all of the furniture to a charity.  His Word reminds us to ‘give and it shall be given to you’!  What a Faithful God we have!!!

6-6-14   Our Changing Beaches  Today was a beautiful day at the Waikiki Beach with my 13 year old granddaughter.  I’ve been posting about shore erosion and it seems to me that few people are really interested in  this topic.  While wading out into the water we noticed how soft and ‘spongy’ the sand was and so I told my GD how this was sand that was pumped from offshore in the ocean and used to restore the receding shore line.  Sand has been washing away from the beaches and the water level has risen.  Shore erosion is noticeable on all the beaches around all of the islands.  I know this for a truth because many of my favorite beaches are hardly recognizable anymore.  There are  sand areas that are shrinking, especially fronting hotels that used to be ample spaces for sunbathers and water activities.  What’s more the scientists say that the islands are slowly sinking which may account for water washing up closer to the sandy sunbathing areas.  But the water was wonderful and we had a nice time.  Do read SHIFTING TIMES AND SHIFTING SAND- The Shaking of All Things.  See related posts on Hawaii’s shoreline in APOCALYPTIC ACCOUNTS also.

6-6-14   Earthquake 3.8 Today!  I have an amazing table which I sit at with my laptop.  I can feel the smallest earth movements when I sit here working.  Sometimes I follow up on them and they may be as small as 2.0+ which is nothing because there is a lot of volcanic and earthquake activity recorded daily from the Big Island of Hawaii.  But today when I felt the jolt from my very heavy Tommy Bahamas dining table, I knew it had to be about 4.0.  Sure enough the USGS reported a 3.8 at the time I felt it- 4:43 p.m. 14km NNW of Kualapu’u HI at 8.9 km depth.  I have been following earthquakes all over the world for a long while but have recently given up trying to keep track of them.  For sure earthquakes have become more frequent in number and intensity everywhere in the world, but what is unnerving is that some sleeping giants are waking up after 50-100 years!  Anyway, others are doing a good job reporting earthquakes so check out the links of those who report breaking news and log earthquakes on their blogs and you will have a sense that Jesus is returning soon!  (See Tab Bar- EARTHQUAKES, APOCALYPTIC ACCOUNTS, BREAKING NEWS, and CURRENT EVENTS for links, etc.)

3-24-14   Scandal hits close to home!  Yesterday I saw something in the morning paper that left me disturbed and agitated!  I could not believe what I saw and suddenly it was like I was caught in a time warp working alongside a man who became a good friend and with whom I grew to have great respect for.   Over 30 years ago I was co-founder with a Roman Catholic priest, of a preschool and kindergarten, the first all day Montessori child center and kindergarten with a federally subsidized food program in a large Honolulu suburb.  I was the administrator and director of the child center and Montessori teacher training program and started a school from scratch working with a priest who had a reputation as a builder of churches of large parish communities. This is not about the school we built up together, but about him.   He was a mature man when he went into the priesthood as an ex-U.S. marine. He loved his church; he loved the school; he loved the children and visited us daily; he passed away over 25 years ago.   His photo was in an ad with 2 other priests this past Sunday.

A full front page of the Sunday paper was dedicated to searching for information that could link local priests to child sexual abuse with ads inserted in the newspaper showing old black-and-white photographs of priests and bishops, some  of whom have been deceased 25-50 years ago.   The ads have been appearing in the last 2 Sunday issues asking the public to provide information regarding alleged sexual abuse by Roman Catholic priests.   In last Sunday’s paper I saw the photo of the priest who taught us catechism and baptized us as Roman Catholic converts over 50 years ago.  He has long passed on.   Under the ads it read, ‘Call or email us for a free and confidential consultation’.   A statute of limitations date of April 24, 2014 is the deadline for any suits to be filed against the Roman Catholic Diocese for damage as a result of sexual abuse by pedophile priests.

A Senate Bill 2687 is being proposed to extend the “unique 2 year window to file civil claims for decades-old misconduct.”  It is opposed by the HI state attorney general and the HI Catholic Church “because it could potentially violate the due process rights of the accused.” The bill would allow claims to be made by individuals up to 55 years of age!   It appears that Catholic dioceses all over the nation are going to have to pay financial compensation to victims of alleged sex abuse who have suffered emotional damage and dysfunctional lives and now need ‘healing’.

Pope Francis’ dealing of the highly publicized scandals and billions of dollars of settlements to victims is fueling witch hunts and vigilantism of a Ku Klux Klan nature by a local attorney and attorney from Minnesota.  No doubt money is always a motivating factor in the legal fees that could be garnered by this pair of vigilantes.   My question is how can justice be meted out when the defendants or those being accused cannot face their accusers?!  How does anyone know if the victims had not concocted their stories or embellished them through their years of suffering and damage to their psyches?  What about the possibility of collusion by unstable victims who are looking for financial gain?  How can guilt or innocence be determined if witnesses cannot be found?  How can a matter be brought to a court of law without bringing in the perpetrator of the crime?  The Bible says that both the accused and accuser go before the judge, and “by the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact may be confirmed” (Mt 18:16; Deut 19:15), i.e. how can there be a claim made without the accused and/or witnesses, as it may be in a case?!

I believe a terrible travesty is being committed against some deceased priests by unscrupulous lawyers who would drag their corpses to be lynched just because they were associated with an organization with some perverts. The Vatican has formed a sex abuse commission to advise churches of a prevention program to establish and enforce policies that will protect children,  learn how to recognize and screen out abusers out of the clergy, train church personnel to be accountable for reporting pedophiles to the police.   We are on a sinking ship; sodomy and homosexuality have been legalized; all unnatural sex is an abomination to God- adultery and fornication, incest, pedophilia, homosexuality, bestiality (Lev 18).

3-12-14  Death of a loved one.  This past Monday, two days ago, my son called to say that their dog, Malu, had passed away.  I was in total shock; it was unbelievable that this could have happened when my granddaughter walked Malu to my home on Friday.  We had a nice time with the large dog putting her big paws on my lap as she licked me and kissed me all over!  Sunday afternoon my granddaughter left to return to college classes and the dog cried all night.  Then early Monday she was found lifeless.  Can you imagine what a shock it was to both me and my granddaughter!  The dog was 10 years old and the vet said she was in good health, but she died so suddenly.  Later my son said that she was experiencing incontinence and she may have had a weak heart, but we’ll never know for sure.  His family is also going through a time of sorrow with the great-grandmother on her death bed with life support.  There has been so much grief and sadness over the past week and then my son shared a word from the Lord who said:

“I love you and will always love you.  Malu, Grama and everything I have given you is a gift.  You get to love both the gift and the Giver in your life.  At some point of My choosing I allow the gift to come back to me.  All gifts come back to me for I am the Giver, no one else is the Giver.  This is to show you that I gave my only Son for you and all He is, the only gift that can remain with you forever.  All other gifts are temporary and come back to Me.”

Ecc 3:1-2,4    To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:  A time to be born, and a time to die. . .  A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

Job 1:21  Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

Psalm 89:48  What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave?

(Added 3-13-14  Great-grandma died last night after being in a grave condition for nearly two weeks.  She lived a full life of 96 years, alert and ambulatory until she became bedfast. Thank God for His loving kindness and tender mercies to receive her with His mighty angels, welcoming her to her heavenly home.   We will see her again one day!  Praise the Lord!)

3-12-14   What shall I do if my faith is challenged?  The answer is to seek God’s Word and follow what it says.  We need to build up our faith from the Word of God which tells us that “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17)  So this is what Jesus said in the gospel of Matthew (some of my paraphrasing):

You will be misunderstood and hated (Mt 10:21-22),

But if you’re persecuted, if people give you trouble, pack up and leave to another place  (Mt 10:23)

If they don’t accept your words, shake the dust off your feet.  (Mt 10:14)

Ye shall be hated by all men, but he who endures to the end shall be saved. (vs 22)

Jesus didn’t come to bring peace, but to set people apart from each other, in particular those in our own household. (vs 34)

When people won’t listen, leave them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind.  And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.  (Mt 15:14)                                                                 (Journal 3-9-14)

2-17-14  Black is black and white is white.

The title of this simple post seems baffling.  I read that 70% of Africa’s countries oppose legalizing same sex marriage and how dare  America and Great Britain try to tell them to rethink their stance!  Do they know more about the evils of homosexual sex, STD’s- sexually transmitted diseases, and adverse consequences of  aberrant sexual life styles, etc. than we do?  Is that why they would want to stamp out this behavior before it corrupts their society?  America is going backwards when at one time sodomy was illegal, now it is legal.  But God’s laws never change.

1-30-14  Lone House Representative’s ‘Challenge to new law is rejected’.

Today’s news re same sex marriage states that “Since December, the state has issued more than 735 marriage licenses to gay couples.”  In ‘BREAKING NEWS’ on my Tab Bar- 11-13-13  Hawaii’s Governor Neil Abercrombie signed the same sex marriage bill into law.  At this particular time a few United Church of Christ and other churches who do marriages as a profitable income generating business for their churches are meeting and having their members vote upon whether or not they will extend their services to gay couples.  The old, historic churches and those with beautiful grounds and beach settings appeal to the public and tourist sector for celebrating their marriage unions.  On a small island such as ours, rumors spread quickly even among churches- a pastor has threatened to leave his church; another seems to think there are different kinds of marriages like holy ones sanctioned by the church and unholy ones or civil unions recognized by the state; another minister feels he may be need to continue performing marriages of non-church members, including gay couples, to meet their budget and pay all their operating expenses, etc.   Most churches who marry only church members believe they will not have to be confronted with this issue.  We’ll see.

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other.  Ye cannot serve God and mammon (money or wealth).  (Mt 6:24)

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.  (Acts 5:29)

11-7-13   House members passed SB1 with amendments in the second reading after intense deliberating all day.  About 9:00 p.m. After hours of deafening chants outside the chamber’s window of “LET THE PEOPLE VOTE!!!”  30 approved and 18 opposed with 2 no votes.  86 percent of the people opposed the bill while a minority of 12 percent supported it and left cheering.  Many left angry and in tears that their voices were disregarded.  Tomorrow, Friday at 10:00 is the final reading.  See Tab Bar  BREAKING NEWS.

11-6-13  Watching the Hawaii House hearings on Senate Bill 1

At 2:00 p.m. Hawaii time today HAWAII HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEES  on JUDCIARY and FINANCE went into a 1 hour recess after hearing over 5,000 testimonies on Senate Bill 1 Marriage Equality Act to legalize same sex marriage in the state of Hawaii.   They said 5 days and 57 hours of public testimony with 25,000 written testimonies was a marathon public hearing ever of the Hawaii legislature!   Everyone applauds the House Representatives for their respect and courtesy  toward the testifiers and their patience during the long hours of listening to testimonies.

Many in the last group of speakers are waiting at the Hawaii State Capital, while thousands of others across the state are watching live tv streaming on their computers in homes, schools and work places, waiting for a landmark decision that would impact Hawaiian society and its institutions.   Countless number of other Hawaii residents sat in their homes on pins and needles like me, praying for the outcome to be against the passage of this unwelcome Senate Bill 1.  The reconvene time was set for 3:00 p.m.   Some of the many very articulate speakers recommended working with the present civil unions that are already legal in Hawaii and try to further extend rights and benefits to same sex individuals.  Many said the bill needed ‘working over’ to insure that personal rights and freedoms would not be infringed upon, and not only relating the bill to clergy or religious organizations, should the bill pass.  The controversy over this bill was unbelievable and understandably highly emotional, with even middle school and high school students testifying with college students and adults , parents with their young children in tow, along with the hundreds, thousands of participants in this hearing, the majority strongly opposed the Senate Bill.

The majority of the testifiers supported God-ordained traditional marriage as being between one man and one woman.   They did not want to redefine marriage as we know it to be other than between a man and a woman.  Even the dictionary defines marriage as between opposite sex individuals, as some referred to the dictionary meaning of marriage.  A great many people disagreed that SB 1 had anything to do with civil/equal rights, but rather a chosen life style of sexual preferences unrelated to traditional marriage.   Only a rare few came out strongly to say that SB 1 is really a bill that legalizes homosexuality!  Parents and educators feared discrimination and the negative impacts upon their children, students and teachers with curriculum changes and requirements imposed upon them that are contrary to their beliefs; many cited problems that came as a result of  Massachusetts, Connecticut, California, Canada and other places legalizing same sex marriage.

They questioned the reason for a hastily called ‘Special Session’ by the governor and hasty decision of the Senate to vote on it and pass it on to the House.   The whole SB 1 process was expected to be completed within the 5 days (so the governor thought).   Many questioned why the 1998 Hawaii Constitutional Amendment was being ignored when it in fact voters had affirmed that the legislature would recognize marriage to be between a man and a woman, so why was this SB 1 being dropped like a bomb upon the citizenry?

At 3:05 an announcement was made that the time was moved to 3:30 p.m. to bring their announcement.   In the meantime thousands of praying Christians continue to intercede for our Aloha State, that God’s Will will prevail.   As I write this, 3:30 p.m. has come and gone and it is 3:40 p.m.

3:50 p.m.   Another announcement that they will reconvene at 4:15 p.m. for decision-making.   TOUGH DECISION!  I really did not think the committee members would be out in an hour!   4:05 p.m.  The door has been opened and some are taking their seats now.   4:22 p.m.  Everybody’s back!  Rep. Karl Rhoads, Sylvia Luke, committee chairpersons announce that they will pass SB 1 and add on  3 amendments to be voted by the full house Wednesday morning.  If approved the bill to legalize same sex marriage will by sent back to the Senate for approval  and by 12-2-2013 will become enacted.

The amendments will adopt laws as the Connecticut same sex law w/religious exemptions; include technical amends on style and clarity and remove sections on parental rights of gay parents that deal  deal with the issue of Hawaiian blood on adoption issue.

10-9-13  Enduring to the End  This is my comment and amplification to someone’s blog post:

“Why does he put us through so much suffering that it nearly kills us.”   I’m afraid this is true and as the scripture says, “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved” (Mt 24:13). This means that being a Christian is not going to be ‘a piece of cake’. It will take ENDURING TO THE END, whatever that means, whatever it entails and whatever ensues in our lives, we must be found acceptable and accounted worthy to be saved (Luke 21:36).

Jesus said when He returns will He find faith on earth (Luke 18:8).  Seeing what is happening in the church today with denominational conflicts, church divisions, false teachings, false shepherds and prophets, the faith of  Christian believers is being challenged to the max.  Blind leaders are leading the blind; deceivers are among us.  Wolves are devouring the sheep and the rest are scattered about to fend for themselves.  Unless there is a return to teaching God’s Word which will build faith (Romans 10:17), we will not know how to live lives pleasing to God; we will not know how to seek His face with humility and holiness so that He can bless us and meet our needs as we call upon Him.   Many do not know the ‘keys’ to being blessed by God because they don’t have anyone teaching them Bible ‘fundamentals’.   Social gospels, ‘feel good’ messages, entertainment and programs have taken the place of solid Bible teachings on salvation and repentance, healing and deliverance, spiritual warfare, etc.  This has weakened the body of  Christ  and made many Christians exposed to the attacks of Satan and left them with no defense.  That is why every Christian believer must study for himself and learn what the Word of God is saying to him personally.  The Bible says that Satan is the thief who comes to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10) and who is teaching about the reality of Satan and his tactics?  The second part of that verse says that Jesus came that “they (we) might have life, and that they (we) might have it more abundantly.”  How can we “have life and have life more abundantly” except that we know the promises of God in His Word?   As long as we live in this world, there will be problems, sicknesses and diseases, afflictions, adversities, and every kind of trials and testings of our faith.  Will we trust God and submit our lives to Him so He can move in our lives on our behalf, or are we going to do things our way, trusting ourselves or relying upon men, rather than God?  An important key is “SUBMIT yourselves therefore to God.  RESIST the devil, and he will flee from you.”  (James 4:7)  If we live in obedience to God’s Word and His Will, we will have spiritual authority and power against the evil powers of Satan.  A lot of people do not have victory in their lives for the simple reason that they are giving place to Satan and temptation to sin, practicing some kind of sin and they need to repent of it.   That sin may be sexual sins, sins of unforgiveness and bitterness,  pride and rebellion or any of the sins noted in 2Tim3:2-5; works of the flesh in Galatians 5:19-21.   While it is true that many Christians have a lot of suffering, I think that God is not responsible for it.  He may allow it, but He will see us through our difficulties if we call upon Him for whatever help we need.

9-15-13  Dealing With My Fears  I have to constantly remind myself of God’s Word to maintain my faith in God.  Especially when I start feeling fearful, fearful of more bad news than good news in the dailies, in the media.  These are real events happening to real people in the U.S., around the world- suffering, violence, wars, natural disasters, severe weather, economic woes, personal financial and health crisis,  etc., etc.  Yes, we have to deal with living in uncertain times, learn to control our fears and to trust in God.  But saying we have faith doesn’t mean that we should be ignorant or lack common sense on important survival matters.  I am flat out not buying and eating any fish or seaweed from Japan.  I saw a photo with fish buyers using a geiger counter to test radiation in fish whether they would be marketable or not.  Need I say anymore?  PRAYER helps allay fears; PRAY for God’s peace to calm anxiety and worries; TRUST GOD AND BELIEVE God’s Word that God loves and cares for us and will give us wisdom and knowledge of how to have peace and sanity when things seem crazy. . .  AMEN.

9-7-13  Cooperating With God  Sorry about not writing more here.  I have tons of stuff in my ‘Notes’ on my iPad and this morning I wrote a note that needs to be here.  It’s about why some people have the same ‘tests’ that cause them great stress.  God allows us to have people rub us in the wrong way with their tone of voice, choice of words, or even their opposing or arguing with us over a difference of opinion on Bible verses as I witnessed recently.  Or it could be that we may lose sleep over an unthankful Christian brethren who takes and takes from you, mostly taking you for granted that you will bail him out, but you never hear from him, giving you the impression that he doesn’t appreciate you as you think he should.  When all of this gets you down, you have stress headaches or sometimes get sick physically and end up in bed a day or two.   What God is doing is getting you to a place where you can be easier on yourself and learn to be longsuffering with others; He is working on developing ALL of the fruit of the Spirit in you where you must learn to be patient and forgiving of others as you expect that God should and would forgive YOU for your lack of patience and forgiveness of others.  If and when you learn your lessons, then God lets up the pressure and moves you on to other ‘lessons’.  Until then expect to have more lessons that will lead to being a more HUMBLE person.  That is God’s purpose- to make us humble and holy, worthy of being a part of His kingdom.  AMEN!

7-7-13   “Preaching is a Risky Business!

I just wrote this post yesterday and have concluded that the reason why evangelism is not a popular activity in the public arena is because of the scorn and bodily danger that one can be exposed to.

This was not the case a generation ago when the Salvation Army street preachers and musicians could be seen and heard on the street corners in downtown Honolulu.  We could pass out tracts in Waikiki where different ones would take turns at sidewalk preaching.  My husband and I would sing Christian songs along the beach and sometimes folks would stand from a short distance away and listen to us.  All of this public type of sharing the gospel in testimony or song has all but disappeared now from downtown and have been replaced by sidewalk entertainers in Waikiki.

Makes me think of sharing the gospel in Noah and Lot’s Day.  What was it like, because these last days are likened to their days (Mt 24:37; Lk 17:26-30).   Noah was ignored and most likely scoffed at for telling a preposterous story about the coming flood, along with his warnings to an ungodly people to repent or be destroyed!  He told the same message for a long time, like the message ‘Jesus Coming Soon’ on top of the church we pass by all the time.  It has been there since I was a little girl.  The day of judgment finally came and after God closed the door on the ark, it began to rain and rain and rain.  Noah lost all of his relatives in the deluge, his uncles, aunts, and cousins; his brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces, not counting all of his in-laws, friends and neighbors.

In the case of Lot, he was a friendless man, a man with no friends who lived in a city where not even 10 righteous people could be found in this city.  It was a city that had grieved God so, with its sins (Gen 18:20-21; 6: 5-6) and was doomed to a fiery destruction.  Lot, a righteous man, was a ‘stranger’ and didn’t fit into the culture of the society he lived in; the people did not appreciate what he stood for and accused him of being a judge who was critical of their lifestyle (Gen 19:9).  The true believers of Christ are becoming fewer and far between, misfits, hated and scorned, feeling like this is no longer their home (it really isn’t; we’re pilgrims passing through this place). In Lot’s day  the sin of sexual perversion, homosexuality consumed the young to the old and they came from every part of the city, representing all ages, all socio-economic levels of class and profession, same as it is today in the 21st century.  This is what God saw when He came down to confirm what was going on in Sodom and Gomorrah and it was the ‘last straw’!  Ezekiel 16:49 describes Sodom as having proud people enjoying prosperity and recreation or leisure time, who didn’t care for the poor and needy, sounds like America?

“Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.”

BUT it was sexual immorality/perversion that brought fire down on them.

“And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.”  (Eze 16:50)

So Lot’s home was nearly broken into and he was threatened with bodily harm if he did not turn over the angels disguised as men who came to save him and his family from destruction.  The wicked men nearly broke down his door and were ready to do him great harm when the angels pulled him back into his house and blinded all those at the door.

He lost his sons and sons-in-law who refused to leave with him, his wife and his daughters.  His wife was reluctant to leave and looked back when warned not to, and she became a pillar of salt.

“. . .Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?”   (Lk 18:8)

6-5-13  “What’s There to Be Proud Of?”

I don’t understand why a group of individuals pride themselves such that they must have their own special parade.  This past Saturday there was a Gay Pride Parade and day long celebration at the park with many activities for families to enjoy.  Hawaii has always been a  known for its ‘Aloha Spirit’ which in recent years has given way to liberality.  That is easy to understand since we are a multi-racial/cultural society, accepting of all people even the increasing number of  recent transplants who add to our increasing homeless population.  Since most of us have some immigrant roots and come from various ethnicities we, too, celebrate our cultures in parades also.  But in times past, nobody openly celebrated their sexual preferences in public before, and with pride, like those who participate in the Gay Pride Parade.  I believe what is done in private between consenting adults is none of anyone’s business and should be kept private, not flaunted or broadcasted in public.  I feel ashamed of these folks who have no common sense.  But on the other hand, I understand that Satan and unclean spirits motivate, influence, and control the minds of non-God fearing people to confuse and eventually destroy their lives.  So how can there be pride in   displaying a disgusting and depraved life style?  It must be because evil is seen as good, and their minds are taken over by Satan himself.  I don’t hate LGBT folks who practice sexual perversion; I pity them because they don’t know that God wants a better life for them.  God wants to extend to them His love and grace, abundant blessings, and most of all, salvation and eternal life.  But they reject Him; they have instead sold their souls to the devil.  They love evil and darkness.  I pity those who don’t repent; eternity in hell is a long time.

5-11-13  “I Gotta Go to the Bathroom!” This is fresh off the press.  After my story I’ll give you the link to a post you should read!  Anyway, I really sympathize with anyone who is desperate to get to a toilet.  This morning a couple of us gals used the men’s bathroom instead of going around to the other side of our meeting room to use the women’s.  There were no men around on this Saturday morning at the church and we were given permission to use the men’s restroom which has toilets in private stalls.  If it were a matter of urgency, I will run into the closest bathroom, which I almost did!  It has happened to me once years ago when I pushed the door open in a men’s restroom in my hurry to use the bathroom!  I hightailed out of there when I saw a man zipping up his pants!  Now the other day I swear there was a man in the women’s restroom where I went to the clinic for a routine exam!   We looked at each other as we came out of our stalls.  Going to a restroom should be a simple matter, but not if you happen to be a cross gender person who either looks like the opposite sex on the outside or is the opposite under your clothing.  Which bathroom or shower room can you use?  California’s solutions to dealing with gender confused students, bathrooming, showering, other issues, etc.  July 6  News flash.  O.K. California’s confused school students can choose which restroom they want to use.  Hope that doesn’t cause confusion among the rest of the kids.

5-5-13  Anointed Singing & Music- the Heavenly Choir (3-2-76)

(How many of you have heard the heavenly choir and/or the cherubs sing?  A couple of years ago, when the youngest group of children in our church sang one Sunday morning, little angels (cherubs) came and joined their voices with them!)

In heaven tens of thousands of angels are singing and praising God around His throne, day and night.  While we on earth praise God, those who are praising God in His heavenly choir join us in praise unto Him.  We become one in unison.  The strains of music flow between heaven and earth and if you have spiritual ears, anointed by the Holy Spirit, you can hear the heavenly music.  The great organ music sends heavenly strains through the atmosphere to the earth and you can hear the music and the choir.  You can hear the pipes (chimes) and rich organ tones accompanying you as you sing praises.  If you listen real good, you’ll hear some singing and harmonizing.

In God’s choir, there is perfect unison and harmony.  No one goes off key in heaven.  We will have perfect voices there and with faith, as we sing under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, there will be new strength, vim and vigor and range in our voices.  When we open our mouths, God will cause His Spirit to touch all those in hearing range.  Our singing and music will comfort, encourage and bring healing and deliverance.  There is POWER in praise.  Praise God in the morning, noon and night for as we minister unto Him, He can minister unto us and do great and mighty things in our midst.  Where words alone cannot be spoken, music and praise will minister faith and health, especially music given by the Spirit and scriptures put to music.  Let the Word go forth in praise and give glory to the Lord.  Amen!

5-5-13  God’s Faithfulness and Church Bondages  (5-1-78)  (At this date we had already been saved and filled with the Holy Spirit, looking for fellowship where we could, but still attending the Roman Catholic Church where we had been converts from many years before.)

“Ask and ye shall receive.”  Many don’t know how to receive from God, so as a result, will settle for second best. Sometimes it’s because they don’t recognize God’s answer; sometimes Satan deceives them and cheats them from receiving a blessing.  God’s words to us are all Truth, for He cannot lie.  His words to us are promises to claim for ourselves.  His Word is all ‘Yea’ and ‘Amen’.  There is nothing good that He would withhold from His children who love Him.  He is faithful and true even when we fail and lack faith.  He is merciful and good even when we are unworthy.  We can draw strength from Him when we are weak; we can trust Him for He is faithful and true.  We will get whatever we need and desire according to the faith we exercise.

Many are fearful and bound in their spirit, so this affects their level of faith and this affects what they receive from God.  They look to man to help them, lead them, speak advice to them when they should look to the Spirit of God for their guidance.  There is nothing to do for these people for they have been blinded by their leaders.

Many do not understand your liberty.  This is what is revealed in their hearts.  They believe they are right, so you must be wrong.  They believe they have the necessary ‘spiritual covering’ and you lack a covering, because you are under no church authority or church government.  If you are not in submission to church authority (spiritual leaders) then you are in ‘rebellion’ to God.  You are a ‘threat’, renegade to them, if you are not members of their assembly.  You are viewed with suspicion; your good works and character are questioned; they are on their guard continually because you are ‘out of God’s divine order’.  When in actuality, there are many who also envy the liberty you have and freedom from bondage to be led by the Holy Spirit.  PTL!   (Gal 5:1; 2 Cor 3:17; Rom 14:16; 2 Cor 1:20)

4-15-13  Taken Captive By His Will  (2-17-2013)

But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.  And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.  (Jude 1:20-23)

And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.  (2 Timothy 2:26)

We cannot help anyone without knowing the way ourselves- we must be of strong faith; we must know the relevant scriptures to point them out.  What to tell them- warn them that they are going the wrong way.  Save those taken captive by Satan, pull them out of the fire.  Show those taken captive the way out.

The warnings consist of teaching what the Bible says about the enemy of our souls:  who he is, his MO, how to resist him.  What if they don’t want to resist the devil, then what?  They will go to hell!  Pray, intercede- 2 Chronicles 7:14, persist in witnessing- don’t give up, Satan won’t!

 4-15-13  A New Year’s Resolution  (1-5-2013)

I don’t recall ever making a serious New Year resolution.  But this is a good a time to start, if any, the reason being that Facebook and computer blogging can take precedence over one’s life.  So I’ve decided that things must change in my life and I need to put prayer and Bible reading BEFORE checking my Facebook and blog activity.

Since I was gifted with this wonderful iPad last November, not a morning passed when I didn’t reach for it right next to my bedside.  Propping it up on a pillow, I would first say a hasty prayer for my family mostly, unless I remembered some other urgent prayer needs.  But it was the same prayer.  I had it ‘wired’, praying as I knew my children and grandchildren would be on their way to school or work or their weekend activities.  There would be two parts mainly:  pray for deliverance from evil as the ‘Lord’s Prayer’ said to do, and pray for protection and safety for each family member.  Actually, I pray during the course of the day, when I read the newspaper or see the late news, when I see the homeless loitering around the shelter as I drop off donations; there are many opportunities for prayer as the Holy Spirit moves me.

As I am posting the above, it is now 4-15-13, 3 months later and I have added checking my emails to my morning in bed routine!  And Bible reading in the morning never took off!  I now read my Bible before going to bed, a chapter or two from the New Testament or Psalms.  Other times I read  scriptures are when I’m blogging, when I’m looking for specific scriptures or checking out someone’s post, or sitting in the car waiting a few minutes while Drgold is running errands.  Yes, I keep a Bible in the door compartment of my car!   I wonder how many Christians are like me who lack discipline for a certain time and place for Bible reading?!  I don’t dare ask!

  1. The Lord seems to especially like to speak to us in that time before we jump into our day. Especially of we meditate on scripture before we fall asleep, we wake up with those thoughts in mind as well. Its a good habit, though I’m not always consistent in following it, I must admit.

    • Actually, I think the Lord is speaking to us ALL the time. It’s just that when we don’t take time to write down the inspirations from the Holy Spirit, we often forget the details in the course of our busy days. But for the things that really stand out, when God speaks in a strong voice, we will recall what He says and we will remember even the details when we write them down, and even if we don’t do so right away. God bless you, Sister!

  2. Yes, touche! Good point. Most of the time we are never “still” long enough to listen. “Be still and know that I am God”. In a very powerful Holy Spirit encounter (that’s what the 419 stands for) in 2009, the Lord even said that to me. “Write it down”. Writing something down is one way of adding works (action) to your faith. Sharing it with someone is another, right?

    • AMEN! I hope that folks will be blessed with ‘JOURNAL MUSINGS’ and leave their comments. I began hearing from God also from my Holy Spirit encounter on July 5, 1972.

  3. Homosexuality itself is a judgement and a punishment upon a nation or a people.

“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them” (Romans 1:21-32)

When we persist in rebellion, despite God’s grace and mercy, God then will allow us to incriminate ourselves fully, because really what mankind is doing at that point is thumbing his nose at the blood Jesus shed that they could have been redeemed. If that does not merit the wrath of God, I can’t imagine anything else that does!

    What were the crimes of Sodom? As you pointed out;

“Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good” (Ezekiel 16:49-50).

The reprobate behaviors that ultimately extended into sodomy, were essentially the fruit of their sins “the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life”. I John, 2:16. When a nation goes so far afield that God gives them over to the point where homosexuality is rampant and declared “acceptable or good”, that is the very glaring indication that wrath is getting ready to fall. Once that cup of wrath begins to tip, it will not stop. We are dangerously close to that moment here in America. Even if we are not “as bad yet” as some nations, we have less excuse than any nation, as the U.S. was founded on the Bible. To whom much is given, much is required. Another way of saying it: to whom more has been given, more shall be required. Americans once knew better. It is a very willful disobedience.

  4. Read with interest, and much, much sadness. So sorry to hear about that Bill being approved in (what was once) lovely Hawaii. My heart goes out to you all who live there. England has also fallen to it.

Comfort, comfort my people: Isaiah 41. Read it, it’s amazing.

Listening to Handel’s Messiah. This lovely music points to some big Scriptures. If any of you have this album, listen and read through the Scriptures for more strengthening.

I’m being brought to see the utter madness of sin and what it does to a nation and the world. I’m sure I’ll be writing on it shortly, with an emphasis on the word ‘madness’. Meanwhile, keep up your own witness here, and the God of heaven strengthen you.

    • Thank you so much for your encouraging words this morning about being a witness- with God’s help and strength. I will do as you have suggested and I am sure that I will be specially blessed today. May God bless you with His grace to carry on in His service as well.
