God’s Word for Today- His Kingdom is Coming!

The prophet Isaiah prophesied the birth of Jesus Christ about 700 years before He was born. Then Isaiah said Jesus will later establish a kingdom on earth that will be peaceable and just forever.  It will be God’s kingdom, with Jesus as its absolute Ruler.  Jesus‘ name shall one day be called ‘Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace:

’For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace:

Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever.  The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.’ (Isaiah 9:6-7)

This is the kingdom of God that will soon come on earth.   The apostle Paul said,

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.  (Rom 14:17)

This world is not our home. In Hebrews chapter 11 this was written about our fathers in faith and is for us, too:

’These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off and were persuaded of them  and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.

And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from when they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.’

Our home is with the Lord in the government that He will soon establish.  Things here will in all probability not improve, but escalate into total lawlessness before the Lord’s return because Isaiah says in 60:2

For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.’

That means that, no, there will NOT be wide-scale revival as some falsely prophesy.  The nominal churches will in fact continue in apostasy and adopt world views.  Jesus Himself said, ‘Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?’ (Luke 18:8b)

The kingdom of God

Matthew chapters 5-7  In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus describes the kingdom of God.  If you want to be sure to be a part of God’s kingdom you must have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus and have received the Holy Spirit because the coming of the Lord is a supernatural event.  Only those with ears to hear the Spirit and are in tune with Jesus will be the ones taken.  In the message to the churches in Revelation chapters 1-3 it says He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches’.  This is said to each of the seven churches and to us,too.  This is not speaking of our physical ears, but our ability to hear with our hearts what the Holy Spirit is saying because when the Rapture takes place it will be in a split second simultaneously with a shout, voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God. (1 Thess 4:15-17).  Paul says this in 1Cor 15:51-52:

‘Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, (there will be those who are alive)

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.’

 Hebrews 13:14; 12:14 tell us:

‘For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

Let us all be as Paul the apostle who said in Philippians 3:13-14:

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

The Bible tells us to BE READY for the Lord’s Return.  This means that Jesus is coming soon!    We  need to BE READY.

Are you ready for the Lord’s Return?

You are either READY or NOT READY.

NOT ‘I hope I’m ready’ or ‘I think so’.

You and I need to know if we are READY or NOT READY.

If we’re NOT READY for the Lord’s Return,

It will be a truly sad, sad day indeed if He returned

And we were NOT READY.

He would have come and gone

And we would have found ourselves

Here are some scriptures that tell us that we need to BE READY when Jesus returns.

Luke 12:40.

Be ye therefore READY also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not. (KJV)

You, too, BE READY; because the Son of man is coming at an hour when you do not expect. (AMP)

You also must BE READY, because the Son of man will come at an hour when you do not expect him . (NIV)

Mt 24:42, 44.  Watch therefore: for you know not what hour your Lord doth come.

Therefore, be ye also READY:  for in such an hour as you think not, the Son of man cometh.

Mark 13:33. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

To get ready for the Lord’s return, do the following.  The order doesn’t matter, but do all three!

And remember this,

‘Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord…’.  (Heb 12:14)
