Do you want to be blessed by God?
Blessings come only by obedience to God and to His Word. If we are disobedient, we will not be blessed, but instead we will reap His disfavor and curses. The opposite of blessings are curses. We can read about this from Genesis to Revelation, more specifically Leviticus 26 and in Deuteronomy Chapter 28, which in my King James Version, is titled, ‘Obedience Blessed’. I suggest a careful reading of these chapters which shows how God will honor those who take Him seriously and will bless their lives and their nation. Having a good testimony for all to see will result in God making you:
“the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only and thou shalt not be beneath, if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.” (Deut 28:10, 13-14)
God is looking for those who are faithful to listen and obey Him uncompromisingly, and without hypocrisy. His Word is “Yea” and “Amen”; it is clear as black and white, with no gray areas in between. When we are obedient children, we show God how much we love Him by worshipping and honoring Him only, doing what is pleasing to Him that brings glory to His name.

A SIMPLE, YET PROFOUND REVELATION OF GOOD AND EVIL
My laptop dictionary describes a dichotomy as a ‘division or contrast between two things that are or are represented as being opposed or entirely different’. According to the Holy Bible, the dichotomies of life deal with man’s struggle in choosing between GOOD and EVIL. For Bible believers, the existence of GOOD is attributed to GOD, and the presence of EVIL in the world, to Satan. Almighty God in Heaven is the source of all that is GOOD, and Satan, formerly Lucifer who was cast out of heaven, aka as the Devil, is the source of all evil. In John 10:10, Jesus says:
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Some dichotomies are:
Love-hate, life-death, war-peace, heaven-hell, narrow way-broad way; salvation-damnation; male-female; believer-unbeliever, true believer-false believer; wise-foolish, rich man-beggar; profitable-unprofitable servant;wheat-tares; good and faithful- wicked and slothful; holy-unholy, moral-immoral, etc. Jesus used dichotomies in His parables’ teachings. There are some listed in this link from my eBook. (See TAB BAR- SHOFAR EBOOK)
Simply speaking, the Bible is about GOOD and EVIL. There is GOOD and there is EVIL in all of our life’s challenges and choices. There is GOD who is our ADVOCATE and HELPER to do GOOD. AND there exists a formidable ADVERSARY or ENEMY of GOD who is EVIL- SATAN, THE DEVIL who seeks our downfall.
We can see from G-O-O-D = G-O-D
and from the word E-V-I-L = D-E-V-I-L, DEVIL aka as SATAN.
It’s been 3 years since I started blogging on ‘God’s Enduring Love’. I had no idea what to expect when my son, a non-blogger at that time, told me to ‘try Word Press. Their support team was there for me and also a couple of new friends soon stepped in and offered their help to a novice blogger.
FACEBOOK and eBOOK– The impetus for my blog site began when I was moderator for a Facebook group in 2011 that later became the Sounding the Shofar group. For 2 months in the latter part of 2011 I was very ill with the worst sinus infection imaginable, and it was during this time that I collated my notes and started writing an eBook, ‘Sounding the Shofar- Exhortations for the End Times’. I had to have help publishing it since I couldn’t make heads or tails out of the self publishing guides. A fine company, Trafford Publishing, came to my rescue by offering a special at that time and by the end of 2011, they helped publish the final draft of my book. Copies were made of my eBook and given to pastor friends in the Philippines on our last mission trip. Since then I have declined Trafford’s repeated offers to help me market my eBook, explaining to them that I had intended all along to ‘give it away free’. The Bible says, ‘Freely you have received, freely give’ (Mt 10:8).
*Shofar eBook- You will find the FREE eBook on my TAB BAR or SIDE BAR of ‘God’s Enduring Love.’ The list of chapter links is found from ARCHIVES- Jan. 13, 2014 https://heulu.wordpress.com/shofar-ebook/
About My Blog– ‘God’s Enduring Love’ was actually started as a ‘trial run’ on May 26, 2012 for ‘learning how to set up a blog site’ and then get Drgold’s blog going. You see, he is the Bible teacher in our household who needed to start a blog to share his many Bible lessons and articles of current interest that he tirelessly works on. I just tried to light a fire under him. If I learned how to blog, I would get his started for him which I did a month later in June 2012. Since our 3rd Word Press anniversary Drgold is going great guns with over 20,000 views than me. Besides Bible studies, there is a lot of interest in his research on current events in the nation and the world. Perhaps I should faze out my blog and let Drgold do all the writing from now for both of us. Well, I haven’t figured out how to do it. Stop blogging I mean, and then I could continue on with my BB life ‘before blogging life’ with my other interests and pursuits. But if I do, I will surely miss the company of all the friends I’ve made all over the world!
‘ABOUT’ page updated– Anyway, at this time I have updated my ‘ABOUT’ which I invite newcomers, especially, to read:

HOW DOES GOD FEEL ABOUT US? From eBook ‘Sounding the Shofar- Exhortations for the End Times’.
I was mistaken about a continuation of Chapter 8 with ‘America Under Judgment’. It is not a topic in the ‘Sounding the Shofar-Exhortations for the End Times’ eBook, but on ‘God’s Hidden Nuggets for the Endtimes ‘America in Decline and Under God’s Judgment‘. I highly recommend that you read this very long and detailed post if you are interested in this subject, and/or also read Is America Under Judgment?
HOW GOD FEELS ABOUT US
God has very strong feelings regarding His Word and how we regard His Word. To love God is to love His Word. To love God is to obey His Word. To be blessed by God, we need to know His Word and we need to follow it. God is made known to us through His Word, and His Word reveals Himself to us. John 1:1 states,

Reposting Chapter 3 focusing on the Power of God’s Word and the Importance of the Word of God for our lives!
This is a repost (8-23-12) to challenge us in diligent Bible study this New Year of 2014! The focus is on the importance of God’s Word for our lives and why we must study it.
I have posted up to Chapter 2 and will be posting Chapter 3 in two parts. Chapter 3 is a very important chapter because our faith in God, our relationship with Him, and everything we need to know about God and His plan and purpose for our lives is based on our understanding of His Word.
Below is the TABLE OF CONTENTS for ‘Sounding the Shofar- Exhortations for the End Times‘ published Jan. 2012. You can read a description of the book by clicking ‘Sounding the Shofar eBook‘ on the BLOGROLL in the sidebar or preview it on amazon.com. I plan to share the entire STS eBook with you over the coming weeks.

TRUST NO MAN– THERE ARE MANY DECEIVERS AMONG US
There are many deceivers among us! Who are they? It’s not the people outside of the Church, many who don’t give a hoot about God. They don’t care about Christians enough to want to bother with us. As a matter of fact, they would rather have outspoken Christians to shut up and stop rocking the boat.
Seriously, the enemy of the Christian is not OUTSIDE, but INSIDE the Church. Our enemy is INSIDE the local assembly, religious organization or denomination, or local and /or national religious affiliation with all those who are ‘professed’ Christians.
There are imposters among us, even as I read this morning’s newspaper editorials. This is what a religious leader wrote in regards to same-sex marriages,
“My understanding of a loving, compassionate God supports the basic right of all loving couples to have the full benefits of marriage.”
Just recently another person pictured in her religious garb, criticized a Roman Catholic Bishop who spoke against same-sex marriage. It will likely be legalized in our state in a coming special session called by the governor. Legalizing civil unions has been just a stepping stone to same-sex marriage, in essence legalizing sodomy and unnatural sex which is an abomination to God. We have come full circle from the days of Noah.
DECEPTION- Sign of the Last Days
Apostasy has been gaining momentum and the numbers of the faithful are dwindling by an exodus of those who have compromised and adopted the world view that “society has changed and so must we”. Christendom is in a stupor, in denial, in ignorance of the deception that has crept into the church, the deception that Jesus warned us would occur as a ‘sign’ of the last days.
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
For many shall come in my name, saying I am Christ; and shall deceive many. (Mt 24:3-5)
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. (Mt 24:11)
But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. (2Tim 3:13)
Who is warning us against DECEPTION, how it will take place; and who is responsible for the DECEPTION?
DESCRIPTION OF THE DECEIVER
The Bible states that Satan is our adversary. He has many evil strategies and uses human agents who work for him to destroy our faith and turn Christians away from God.
All of Satan’s agents can be distinguished by certain traits. (Gen 3:1; Eze 28:15, 17)
- They are very charismatic, articulate and persuasive, but are false teachers;
- They are intelligent and cunning;
- They are masters of mind control, and can convince you to believe lies.
So who are these deceivers in the Church?
- They are often highly recognized leaders or televangelists within the Church.
- They are theologically trained and know the Bible, but depart from the truth by teaching another gospel!
- They do not warn others of God’s forthcoming judgment and wrath, about the Endtimes, and of repentance and Hell, but present soft messages of love, brotherhood, and prosperity.
THE GREATEST DANGER IN THE CHURCH
The following are gifts to the church:
“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive. . .” Eph 4:11-14
Pastors Under Fire
The greatest danger in the Church today are self-serving pastors who are not serving God and teaching obedience to His Word. They do not believe in the inerrancy of the Bible and have compromised God’s Word to their own liking. They are deceived, and deceiving; some may have started out with a genuine calling of God, but are no longer following the lead of the Holy Spirit and now have given in to following the world view, which is contrary to God’s view and the Bible.
It is interesting to note that in the New Testament, the word ‘pastor’ is mentioned only once, with his job description as underlined above.
In the Old Testament there are only 8 references to ‘pastors’ and 7 are used in a very negative way, all found only in the book of Jeremiah. This was during a time of great apostasy and forsaking God, like today. Jeremiah said the pastors did not acknowledge God, did not have a personal knowledge/relationship with God, and mishandled the Word of God. The pastors and prophets both sinned against God. They did not speak words from God, and they did things that were not profitable.
The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit. (Jer 2:8)
When God is forsaken it is because of the failings of those in leadership and in spiritual authority. In Jer 10:21, it states:
For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered. (KJV)
For the shepherds [of the people] have become like brutes, irrational and stupid, and have not sought the Lord or inquired of Him or required Him [by necessity and by right of His word]. Therefore they have not dealt prudently and have not prospered and all their flocks are scattered. (AMP)
Words of Judgment on Pastors:
The wind shall eat up all thy pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness. (Jer 22:22 KJV)
The wind [of adversity] shall pasture upon and consume all your shepherds (your princes and statesmen), and your lovers (allies) shall go into captivity. Surely then shall you be ashamed and confounded and dismayed because of all your wickedness. (Jer 22:22 AMP)
Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD. (Jer 23:1)
Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD. (Jer 23:2)
What kind of pastors does God want for His people, the sheep of His pasture?
The 8th reference to ‘pastor’ refers to the pastor God desires:
And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. (Jer 3:15)
A similar scripture is Jer23:4:
And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.
During the Millennium God will choose pastors whom He will entrust with teaching us His Ways perfectly; we will have complete knowledge and understanding and have no fear of being deceived or confused with conflicting doctrines and teachings as are rampant in the church today.
In conclusion, don’t look to man, but to God and His Word for the Truth. Everyone, including the new Pope is imperfect in his human judgment. Anyone who deviates from the Word of God is a deceiver, a wolf in sheep’s clothing, an instrument of Satan, to weaken the church, scatter the sheep, and take them to Hell with them. Keep a close eye on your Pastor and what he’s teaching you, to see if it lines up with the Word of God- TRUST NO MAN.
Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. (Jer 17:5; 17:7)

Sounding the Shofar- Exhortations for the End Times
(Original post 7-20-12; edited 6-25-13)
I published an eBook, Sounding the Shofar-Exhortations for the End Times in early 2012. I plan to post excerpts from the eBook under the Category, ‘Sounding the Shofar eBook and Related Posts’, the reason being that I know of folks who can’t buy it, or don’t want to pay amazon.com $3.39 for an electronic book. I originally wanted to publish a FREE eBook, but I didn’t have any experience with self publishing. Trafford Publishing Company helped me through the whole process at a reasonable cost. Now that I know how to blog, I can make my book available to anyone who visits my blog site! And that should be no problem since I own the copyright.
If you would like to read a description and chapter preview, you can do so in the sidebar BLOGROLL- Sounding the Shofar eBook. The Table of Contents is in this post-https://heulu.wordpress.com/2012/08/23/sts-ebook-table-of-contentschapter-3-gods-word/
I will start by posting the Introduction and Chapter 1 about why I wrote the ebook and the faithfulness of God and having a relationship with Him. Some Filipino pastors and teachers are using copies of my manuscript for teaching, for sermons, and for radio ministry especially because I have used many Bible scriptures in the chapters. And if you so desire, you too, can also use any or all portions of the eBook, without my permission.
I am almost done with writing another book, Sounding the Shofar- The Enemy in Our Midstwhich is about the reality of Satan, his devices and strategies, and how to resist him. Every believer in Christ needs to learn what the Word of God says about our common adversary! This book won’t be published, but instead will be posted on my blog site. The first chapter will have my personal testimony of how I became a believer in Jesus Christ. LOOK IN ARCHIVES- JAN 2013 for posts on DECEPTION and APOSTASY.
There is also a Facebook Group called Sounding the Shofar.
Thank you for viewing my blog site!
WHY is God blasphemed and mocked? ANSWER: Because He is not loved nor feared. America is on the verge of stepping over into the great abyss for departing from God’s righteousness. We will reap curses and judgment from God for rejecting Him and disregarding His commandments. We have not served Him with joy or with gladness of heart and have not appreciated His bountiful blessings to us and our nation (Deut 28:45,47) We murder babies; we legislate immorality; we call evil good, and good evil. YES, ‘Our Lord Should Be Loved and Feared, Not Blasphemed and Mocked’! YES, we should FEAR GOD! See https://heulu.wordpress.com/2012/11/18/how-god-feels-about-us-shofar-ebook-chapter-9/ God feels REJECTED AND DESPISED, REPROACHED, IGNORED, AND IS PROVOKED TO ANGER. Read about HIS FEELINGS in my eBook, Sounding the Shofar- Exhortations for the End Times. Chapter 9 is in 2 separate posts in the Category ‘From Journal and Shofar eBook.
