Welcome to ‘God’s Enduring Love’!

I am a retired school administrator and teacher, and more recently, a Christian missionary.   My husband and I were  missionary-evangelists to the Filipino people in Northern Luzon.  In 2000-2012 we made 14 mission trips to the PHILIPPINES to teach and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.  We now help out as Bible teachers in both a Filipino and a Chinese church on Sundays.

8-28-17  Update on my blog site

I started an art blog recently and I noticed my gravatar, name and profile info have ‘changed’.  I’m not sure how to restore these settings, but it doesn’t matter much.  But I will contact Word Press.  I started as  Shofar with a gravatar of a watchman blowing the shofar announcing the Soon Coming of the Lord Jesus and I will continue to be a watchman on the wall.  But for now I’m Liz and YES,  I am also an acrylic and oil painter on this site:  http://artwithaloha.wordpress.com

ALOHA from Blue Hawaii!

. . . I reblog a lot of stuff that I hope to read later on. My own writing does not take a tremendous amount of time and research like Drgold’s blog site.  It is usually Short, Simple, Succinct and I hope, for the Sophisticated to the Simpleton, meaning there is something for everyone, including the eclectic.  I don’t look for Followers or even Viewers, but just whoever wants to come by and visit whenever they like, even it’s only myself re-reading my own posts as I do sometimes!  As a retired administrator and teacher, I was more like Robin Williams in ‘Dead Poet’s Society’- an iconoclastic sort, paddling my own canoe.  I am still and always will be my own person, but I have a compass and road map in hand.  With this said, let us help each other over the rough waters of life as we find our way through this short sojourn of life on planet Earth.  AMEN.

When I started my blog almost 2 years ago I wrote, “I am interested in sharing my experiences as a Christian and also as a person who enjoys my family, God’s creation, nature, art and photography, travel and gospel music.”

I am no one special, never been to formal Bible school; however, it is true that I have varied interests, a family who loves God, and a blessed life.  But the real truth of the matter is that I have a deep burning in my heart to share the love of God with as many as I can in cyberspace, in every nation of the world.  I post my own writings and reblogs by others, provide many links of current events that are related to Bible scriptures and prophecy, especially regarding the deteriorating conditions of the world and society.  The main focus is the signs of the end times and the end time message is that Jesus is coming soon, but before He does, we must repent of our sins and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and receive God’s gift of salvation and eternal life.  All indications are that the earth is imploding and we are on a crash course in the wrong direction- away from God.  Please check out my Tab Bar and read the links under the many topics that I want very much to share with you.

My husband, Drgold,  also has a blog site of Bible teachings which he has presented in the Philippines in Bible schools, Pastors’ Bible Seminars, and sermons in many churches throughout Northern Luzon.  He also writes about the End times and Bible prophecy.  His blog can be found at  http://drgoldsite.wordpress.com,   ‘God’s Hidden Nuggets for the Endtimes- Revealing Truths From the Word of God’.

I cannot emphasize enough that you need to read Drgold’s posts also.  He has many well-referenced teachings on basic, fundamental truths of God’s Word that you should avail yourself of.  His focus is on understanding that God has a plan and purpose for our lives that has to do with our future eternity, but unless we learn what it is, we will miss out on the blessings He has planned for us.

On the home front, we are missionaries in Honolulu at a Chinese church and in a Filipino church where we teach and preach.

I try to review everything that is on my blog site, and I may occasionally not fully agree with someone’s post but will still reblog it for the general message it may convey.   That is not to say I understand most of what I read, especially posts on the political or world events scene.   Or on posts on pre-, mid- or post- tribulation teachings which I do not claim to know the full truth about.  So you, dear reader, are still responsible to check out the information yourself, pray and ask God for discernment, look for 2 or 3 witnesses in the Bible, read articles from more than one source, etc.

Thank you for visiting my blog!  Do comment and help me out by staying on the topic, please!  Thank you!

  1. I have a couple of blogging buddies who live in the Philippines. And two of our best friends moved here from the Philippines in the sixties and early seventies.

  2. I’m sorry for such a late reply. I didn’t look at ‘ABOUT’ until today and didn’t check my dashboard for comments. I look at Notifications under WordPress. I’m still trying to figure out how things work. Right now I haven’t seen views from all countries, maybe not working?
I’ve seen travel/photography blogs by two Filipino young men who take great photos.

  3. Thank you for stopping by Armoured Up. I also have a connection to the Philippines. My sister in Christ Guia Gulden is doing a mighty work there with an orphanage she and God’s people have built…Samaritan’s House. Bless you for the work you do.

    • Thank you for your comments, Arlene! There are so many impoverished people and orphaned children in the Philippines. I hope to post pictures of a children’s shelter we have visited. Check out the category on Philippines Mission Work on my blog site.

  4. Your blogs are so interesting! Makes me want to visit the Philippines.

  5. What is really admirable about you is your unwavering faith and that’s crystal clear through your post–this in particular.

Thank you for the kind words! May we continue to write our stories here because we never know whom we can inspire.

    • Hi Sony, I just lost my reply and am starting over again! It was going to be short, but the post got longer! (laugh)

While you have an interest in writing skills, I have done short seminars on oral communication skills with Bible school students in Santa Rosa, in Laguna and Binalonan near Urdaneta, and with students at the Univ. of Pangasinan in Lingayen. The goal is the same, however, which is to communicate. I taught what they requested- English phonetics and added Western idioms and colloquialism which drew much interest. I told the students that the main thing is to speak to be heard and understood because Standard English is a misnomer, since it can be seen that even Americans may speak with different tones and inflections. I love to hear British English spoken and used to point out differences in pronunciation and spelling from American Standard English per American college dictionaries used for reference.

  6. I see you’ve been busy reading my life story. I hope you were caused to praise our amazing God for the work He has performed in changing me. I assure you it was ALL His work – work which He is still continuing.

    We serve an amazing God!

    • Only an AMAZING GOD could do such a makeover as yours! He gave you such a talent for writing and sharing your AMAZING TESTIMONY!

  7. Greetings from Australia,
I pray that the grace of God through the Holy Spirit allows you to reach those with the love of Christ
    God bless you

  8. I’m sorry shofar if I don’t make my appearance clear on your blog. To be truthfully honest, religion is my weakest. That and politics. It’s hard to talk about it. And I’m really not a religious type.

  9. If you see 2 different gravatars in this comment section, it’s because Drgold and I had a mix up, a glitch, but it’s cleared up now.

  10. Love the similarities between the goal of our blogs- Sharing Jesus, as well as our gravatars 🙂 May God bless your ministry and blog!!

    • So nice for you to visit! And interesting that you chose the very same gravatar! Our faith walk depends on our knowledge and living out God’s Word in our lives. Share God’s Word in all of your posts and God bless you, too! Good to see a young blogger like you! \o/

  11. Wow! I missed getting to meet you face-to-face by just one year. 😦 My kids lived on Hickam for four years – just moved to Florida last August. I got to visit once or twice a year while they were there.

    • Too bad about that! And would you believe that when my husband was in the Air Force, he was stationed here at Wheeler AFB! He got out as a Captain, and didn’t choose a military career.

  12. Nice reading about you

Thanks for visiting my blog. Be in touch. Browse through the category sections, I feel you may find something of your interest.

  14. Hello sweet friend. I have nominated you for the Sweet Blogger award, http://wp.me/p3mUBo-16V
.I normally do not send out these awards but someone dear to me seemed to think it is important so I want to honor their kindness in sending this to you. You can follow the rules or be like me and be a rule breaker. Today I want you to know you make a difference in my life! Thank you!

    • Thanks so much, Michelle! It is a great enough reward to have a special friendship and a kindred spirit with you! We cannot fathom the freedom we have in the Lord. He has indeed set our spirit free! We shall know the truth and the truth shall set us free! Church is in US for we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. When I was teaching 4th graders I told them that one day we would explore space together! To soar in the heavenlies, to dance on mountain tops, to discover the beauty of God’s creation and share His secrets, that’s what I want to do! AMEN! Love in the Lord~ Liz

  15. Liz what a lovely sweet spirit we share and a love for our Heavenly Father. Who has seen me dancing on mountain tops and down in the valley of the shadow of death and He loved me out of the pit. I love it when God brings someone into you life that shares a similar love and devotion to him. I know I am free to share anything with you and not worry about judgment, or disdain. This has not always been the case you see I grew up in the church. I have always said, nobody shoots their wounded like the church. I walked away from “the church” 6 years ago. I have sense realized that the church is not a building but on the inside of us and we carry around this light in jars of clay. Sprinkling little bits of Jesus on those who come across our paths. I thank you for being tender to the spirit of God. I love you for that.! Be blessed as you have so richly blessed me sweet Liz. I hope you find that sunset to paint and when you do please share it with me. Big hugs to you!

  16. Thank you for counting my blog worthy to read. I’m glad to know that you have already visited philippines for many times and so much you are sharing the Gospel to my brethren here. May God continue to bless you to reach for souls.

    • Thank you for your visit and Follow. The Philippines is teeming with children and youth who fill the churches. Many are very young pastors who preach the gospel to the poor and feed the hungry, being poor themselves, but full of faith with zeal to reach the unsaved masses. Do read about our mission work! God bless your ministry!

      • Equipping The Saints
