Downcast … disturbed … What are we to do when we feel like this?
God’s love is from everlasting to everlasting! Praise the LORD!!! Let us trust the Lord even more fervently as we enter the New Year 2020!
“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God” (Psalm 43:5).
Downcast … Disturbed … What are we to do when we feel like this?
As I was reading these words of the Psalmist, I thought, also, of the words of the Apostle Paul – “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:4-7).
Paul echoes and expands on the words of the Psalmist.
