Do You Have the JOY of the LORD?
Are you happy or sad, glad or mad, rejoicing or grieving, going through minor or major battles? It is always something or other as we journey through life. Yet the Bible tells us that we can ‘rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.’ (1 Peter 1:8) How is this possible? This joy that is ‘unspeakable’ is directly related to God’s ‘unspeakable gift’ (John 3:16, Rom 6:23). Only if we have received God’s gift of salvation can we even imagine experiencing a measure of this kind of ‘unspeakable joy’.
Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. (2 Cor 9:15)
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: (1 Peter 1:8)
In John 21:25 we read that there are not enough words or books that can be written which testify of the Great Love and Mercy, and Blessings that God for us. Through the words penned by the apostle John, also known as John the Beloved and John the Revelator, we can get a glimpse of Almighty God and His great love for us. For new believers and for everyone else, the gospel of John is a ‘MUST READ’!
And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
YOU CAN HAVE UNSPEAKABLE JOY!
The fact that we have accepted Jesus into our hearts and received God’s unspeakable gift of salvation is reason to rejoice! Jesus said that we should ‘rejoice because your names are written in heaven.’ (Luke 10:20)
We can rejoice knowing that we have pleased God and brought joy to His heart by accepting His Love and joining the family of God, and that all heaven rejoices as well!
Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. (Luke 15:10)
We rejoice with the knowledge that God, our Father in Heaven, loves us and has our present and future in mind, and He is preparing a place for us.
(Jesus said) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (John 14:3)
(The Holy Spirit whom Jesus Has sent to be our Comforter, Teacher and Guide) will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. (John 16:13)
For I know the plans I have for you, . . . plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jer 29:11)
Before Jesus went back to heaven He gave important instructions. Please read John chapters 15-16.
These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. (John 15:11) This refers to ‘joy unspeakable and full of glory’ (1Pet 1:8)!
It is by believing in Christ and God’s great love for us that we, despite our personal circumstances, the conditions of society or the world, no matter what situations we find ourselves in, whether good or bad, that we can rejoice knowing that we have a Father in Heaven who loves us and cares for us and wants us to be blessed.
. . .Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. (Jer 31:3)
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (Heb 13:5)
GOD BLESS YOU ALL! Rejoice in the Lord always! (Phil 4:4) The JOY of the LORD is your strength! (Neh 8:10)
