Divine Love and Anger, Grace and Judgment

Excellent excerpts from Chris Wright’s commentary on Jeremiah ‘the weeping prophet’.

“. . .But whose tears?. . . In many of those texts the words of the prophet and the words of God blend together so closely that it is difficult to be sure who the weeping speaker is.  It is not merely that Jeremiah speaks God’s words; he also feels God’s feelings. . .”

I have been reading Jeremiah again. I am only half way through and it’s been quite a few weeks because I keep starting and stopping.  It is the saddest book in the Bible that reveals God’s broken heart over His people, over us- people He created and loves who have turned their backs to Him and rejected Him. We need to take God seriously and listen to His voice. We need to come up to His standards and forsake our evil and compromising ways.  One day soon He will come for a pure and holy people.  Will we be among them?  Will Jesus find faith on earth?

THIS IS A ‘MUST READ’ MESSAGE TO US TODAY-

AMERICA-REPENT OR PERISH!  REPENT AND RETURN TO GOD!
