Most Christians have heard II Chronicles 7:14 quoted so many times they couldn’t count them if they wanted to. The verse goes like this: God said, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Even though God used this verse in reference to drought and pestilence in Israel (see the preceding verse in II Chronicles 7:13), it is almost always taken out of context and applied to revival in the Church and just about any nation other than the nation of Israel.
