Birds, Garden and Jonah

Two of our grandchildren at park feeding birds. Nearby is a community garden for city dwellers which we enjoy walking through and identifying herbs, vegetables, flowers and other plants grown there.

Vine growth over wooden trellis shows how shade was provided for Jonah as he sat outside the city of Nineveh waiting to see what would happen to his prophecy.

My grandson recalled the story that a caterpillar ate all the leaves, ate the gourd, too. So the plant died and Jonah had pity on it and wanted to die, too, since the heat from the sun was unbearable!
