A NATION BLESSED OR CURSED
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. (Psa 33:12)
A BLESSED NATION…
A nation is blessed when it honors God, when it obeys His commandments. Likewise, a nation is cursed when it dishonors God by disobeying His commandments.
WHAT DOES GOD REQUIRE OF US:
“… to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul… (Deut 10:12)
ALL OF GOD’S PROMISES ARE CONDITIONAL-
“Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.
And he will love thee, and bless thee… Thou shalt be blessed above all people… (Deut 7:9, 10, 13, 14)
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land…
But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;
Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight (2Chr7:14,19,20).
THE BLESSINGS… (Deut 28:1-2; Deut 28:3-14 paraphrased)
“AND IT shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.”
Wherever you are, in the city or in the field,
And wherever you go, you will be blessed,
Everything you touch will be blessed,
All of your people, the animals, the land
Will be fruitful and productive.
You will be blessed with an abundance of goods,
You shall be a lender unto many nations,
And not a borrower.
You will be respected because
You are called by the name of the LORD;
And people will be afraid of you.
Your enemies will rise up against you
Only to flee in many directions from you.
The LORD will command His blessings upon you
And bless your land with rain in his season
And bless all you set your hands to do.
He will make you the head, and not the tail!
You will be above only, and not underneath!
ONLY IF you listen to me and obey me,
Don’t go to the right hand or to the left,
Don’t forsake me and forget what I have instructed you
By chasing after other gods to serve them instead,
FOR I AM THE LORD YOUR GOD!
THE CURSES… (Deut 28:15; Deut 28:16-68 paraphrased)
“But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day: that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:”
No matter where you are, you will be cursed,
In all your comings and goings, you will be cursed,
Everything you have, your people, your land, your cattle,
Everything you touch will be cursed
Because of your wickedness in forsaking me.
You will suffer endless pestilence, sicknesses, plagues,
Diseases with no cure, fever and inflammation,
Fiery heat, war and drought, depression and oppression;
Your enemies will come against you and you will flee from them.
You will not prosper, but be robbed continually with no one to help you,
You will not have good marriages or a happy home,
Your family will be broken up and your children will leave you,
Neither will you have productivity of your land, livestock, goods or any of your labor,
Others will get ahead, higher above you while you will keep going down lower and lower.
You will suffer deprivation and want,
All of this and more will happen to you because you refused to listen to me and obey my voice.
And this shall be a sign and a warning to other nations
Who will be shocked at what has happened to you; you will be a byword, and they will make fun of you and ridicule you,
Knowing where you came from and how you have fallen, because you did not serve me with joyfulness,
And with gladness of heart for the abundance of your blessings.
Thus your life shall hang in doubt before you;
Day and night you shall be worried,
and have no assurance of your life.
America is fast becoming a byword among the nations of the world. The immorality and corruption of our leaders have brought America to the brink of God’s judgment and destruction. Passing laws that are against the Word of God by approving immorality among the people is a stench unto God. As God destroyed the ungodly and the world during Noah’s days, and Sodom and Gomorrah, He will likewise bring judgment upon America.

In the Old Testament we are told,, The curse of the Lord is in the house of the wicked. The word wicked is translated, he that sins. The New Testament tells us, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The glory of God is Jesus Christ. Jesus told us that the devil is the reason that we sin.(2 Corinthians 4:3) If our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost, in whom the god of this world, (Satan) has blinded the minds of them that believe not. . Jesus teaches us that Satan has told us lies
You are absolutely right. Satan has deceived many and they have bought into his lies. Because they refused to submit to God and His Word, they could not resist the devil’s trickery, therefore they became his slaves, bound to him and his lies and will have the same end as him- in the lake of fire. when they gave place to him they became his and Satan became their father. We are warned in
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Satan has lied to us and told us that we are saved,no matter what. Jesus tells us, that as many as recieve Him, gave He power “to become” a son of God. Jesus told us to be perfect as as Father which is in Heaven. Matthew 5:48. We are cursed as a nation because we do not believe what Jesus said. My people are destroyed for lace of knowledge. This is why we are cursed to day. The lane is going to spue us out!
Lev 18:24-30 KJV
(24) Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
(25) And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
(26) Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
(27) (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;)
(28) That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you.
(29) For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.
(30) Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God.
Thank you, Robert for sharing the Word of God on the consequences of disobeying God and practicing abominations that defile our land. God will surely hold us accountable for our unrepented sins, defiance and rejection of His Word, and outright rebellion to His face. The Bible says, the LORD, HE IS GOD. Whether some refuse to acknowledge that or not does not change that fact. All will stand before God one day and give account for their lives. All knees will bow and worship Him one day. Those who are not God fearing will cry out in torment to Him from the fires of hell, but it would be too late then.
Your reference to II Chronicles is significant because if this is really studies we find that God is responding to a prayer by Solomon. God’s answer, though, is a mandate that the people keep His word as stipulated in Deuteronomy. This nation is turning from God but I feel that there is still time to turn from wickedness and embrace the holiness of God.
I am of a contrary opinion because of the deception and apostasy in the church today with more compromise and acceptance of world views. Those who desire to remain true to God and His Word are being silenced by ungodly legislation that prevents them from speaking about repentance from sin, holiness, hell, much less salvation and eternal life, and the return of Jesus Christ. Even Jesus asked will he find faith on earth when He returns. Based on Noah and Lot’s day which these last days are compared with, there is not likely to be a recurrence in faith in God and an anticipation for the return of Christ. But God will have and always has had a remnant group of believers.
There is deception as well as apostasy. But you can count me as optimistic because I am of the belief that revival will soon come to this land. And, event there are attempts to legislate morality I, for one, refuse to relent on the Word of God. If God says it is sin then it is sin. To those who choose not Christ I would hope that their minds are soon changed.
Satan, the great deceiver, has masterminded what we see in the apostate churches. But you are right, Preacher Carter, we must speak faith continually and fix our eyes on God and His Word. Only the Holy Spirit can bring conviction of sin and accomplish God’s plan and purpose as in the Lord’s prayer, “thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
Yes Sir, you are well to point out that the Holy Spirit convicts of sin and those that refuse to bend, well …
